LIFE IN TRUJILLO

This small town lying on the north coast of the Caribbean Ocean, where the mountains meet the ocean, is the oldest town in Honduras. The mountains are home to a National Park and downtown is the site of the historic Spanish fort overlooking the ocean. Even though there is a hard surfaced airport, presently, there are no daily flights into the town however, political and business people are working with the domestic airlines to start daily flights into the town which will greatly increase visitors. Cotuc Bus Lines offers comfortable bus rides from San Pedro Sula each hour, takes six hours but costs only about $8.00. Commuter planes fly between San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba with regularity leaving a 2 hour car trip into Trujillo.
